Oscar-winning actor James Coburn died of a heart attack while listening to music at his Beverly Hills home with his wife on Monday at the age of 74 years. He was a native Laurel Nebraska and made a career of playing tough-guy roles in such films as "Our Man Flint" and "The Magnificent Seven". He won an Academy Award in 1999 for his supporting role as an alcoholic father opposite Nick Nolte in the acclaimed drama "Affliction." He is currently in an independent movie now playing in North American theaters portraying a terminally ill novelist in "The Man From Elysian Fields," which also stars Andy Garcia and Mick Jagger. He is survived by his wife, Paula, two children, Lisa and James Jr., and two grandchildren.
