Memorialize a loved one

John W. Wilson
March 3, 1935 - April 15, 2000

At the cottage 1998

Loving husband of Mary and father of Peter and David. Loving grandfather of Katie, Meagan, Sally, Liam and Fred. John will be sadly missed but forever remembered.

A native of Alberta, John lived in Ottawa for forty-eight years. He graduated from Carlton University in Ottawa with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He started work with the RCMP in 1956 and retired as Staff Superintendent after a thirty-one year career.

John remained extremely active after retirement, devoting much energy to volunteer efforts. He was on the Board of Directors for the Ottawa and District Photography Association, he was an active volunteer with the St. Paul's Church, and he was a former Board member of the Habitat For Humanity organization.

One of John's finest talents and a great source of enjoyment was coaching youth. He spent 11 years as a head coach with the West End Little League, attaining many League, City and Regional Championships. He positively influenced the lives of many area youth who, till his death, still called him Coach.

Other fulfilling activities included gardening and traveling. He had a great appreciation and love for music, especially the sounds of Big Band and Jazz. John loved the outdoors and his loyal dog Duke. He could often be seen admiring a beautiful sunset or spending countless hours at his favorite museums.

Ultimately, his greatest joy was his family and grandchildren, which he showered with constant love and affection. John was deeply loved and his wonderful presence will be missed by all who loved him.

Sunshine passes, shadows fall,

Love's remembrance outlasts all.

And though the years be many or few

They are filled with precious Memories of you.

Love you always, Mary
