Many years ago (50?), Mr Geoffrion, was in the Sault, at a Community night. I new we were related through my Grandmother but I was young and did not overcome my shyness to say hello. So I am now saying Hello and Goodbye Boom Boom.

My Sincere Condolences
it was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Bernard. My father Guy and him were best of friends growing up in Montral and played hockey for a number of years before Bernard went on to play for Montral. Tu t un bon copin. Que Dieu te reoit bras ouvert. Merci pour les bons souvenirs Bernard!

He was a great man and I had the pleasure of meeting him when he was the coach of the Atlanta Flames. I have kept up with the Boomer's news over the years and am very sad to hear of his passing. I am a canadian now living in Georgia for many years and enjoyed his coaching and humor over the years. Best wishes to his family. The Boomer will be forever remembered.

I met Mr.Geoffrion when "The Legends" series was promoted in Vancouver (I worked on that series) Bobby Hull, Boom Boom and Chuck Rayner were all special guests at the function. I sat with all three of these very special gentlemen and we talked for over 2 hours about them wanting to be a hockey player when they were young and then finally living their dreams by playing in the NHL. Their story of putting on that jersey for the first time still gives me "goosebumps". I had also met Mr.Geoffrion when he was in Vancouver coaching the Atlanta Flames and was very patient signing autographs for the fans that used to wait for the players after the game by the dressing room. I will say that in my years of following hockey the word "Gentleman" has come up in relation to several players that include Bobby Orr, Jean Beliveau, Henri Richard, Gordie Howe, Guy Lafleur, Bobby Hull, Gump Worsley, Charlie Hodge, Pat Quinn and there are others but to me the "Gentleman" status truly belongs to Mr.Geoffrion. My thoughts and prayers are with the Geoffrion family. Rest in peace Mr.Geoffrion, you will be missed and remembered fondly by many and especially this hockey fan in White Rock B.C. Canada.
