"Scotty" will surely be missed. I grew up watching Star Trek, and I still watch the old shows when I get a chance. James added a flare to that show, that only he could do. I loved watching him come up with some way to fix the ship that he loved so much. My thoughts are with the family and all Star Trek fans on the death of a true trekkie.

As Dr. McCoy might have said, "He's dead, Jim, and it's a doggone shame." I met Mr. Doohan at Central Washington University in 1976 at a lecture he gave. He was personable but tough, and impatient with Hollywood's excuses for dumbing down Star Trek. I was young and impressionable, and I'm glad I had his example to follow. He will be greatly missed.
