Born in Relva, Sao Miguel on March 17, 1943. After a courageous battle with cancer . Jose, surrounded by his loving family went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2009 at the age of 66. Beloved husband of Maria for 35 years. Loving father of Lucy and David Matteson and Fatima Faria and Nelson Luis. Cherished Avo of David, Jessica and Nevaeh. Dear son of the late Emmelina and late Manuel Faria. Survived by his sisters Maria Louisa and the late Denis Botelho, Valentina and the late Denis Sardinha. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Hamilton, Chatham, Kingston and Portugal. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Henderson Hospital and St. Peter's Hospital. Resting at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James) on Monday, October 12, from 1-9 p.m. Vigil prayers on Monday at 8:30 p.m.. Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary's Church on Tuesday, October 13 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
