The grief process is a difficult task.
It is hard work, but you do not have to do it alone.

Coping With Loss
Many people who experience loss have confusing emotions such as:
  • Feeling like they are going crazy
  • Feeling all alone as others carry on with their lives
  • Feeling that no one cares
  • Being overwhelmed with everyday tasks
  • Wondering where you go from here
  • How do you move on?
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Feelings of guilt or anger
In addition, some people experience physical symptoms such as:
  • Not sleeping well
  • Not eating properly
  • Substance abuse problems
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue
  • Depression
  • Lack of concentration
There is no right or wrong way to grieve...
You may not experience any of these symptoms or you may experience more than one. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, but when grieving starts interfering with your regular routine, you may wish to consider accessing a bereavement support group. A bereavement support group provides a comfortable setting in which you can discuss your feelings with people who are going through a similar process and are better able to understand and help.

The Grief process is a difficult task.
It is hard work, but you do not have to do it alone.

Grief is a process we all go through in our own way. Kitching, Steepe & Ludwig offers a resource to those who wish to benefit form the caring and understanding of a support group experience.

What Does The Group Do?
  1. The general goal is to work through the grief process so that you are able to emerge into your new life after loss.
  2. The group is set up to meet the needs of its individual members.
  3. The process is to educate, inform, support and share with others going through the grief process.
  4. Topics will include the experience of loss, the funeral and its impact, conflictual feelings and emotions, cultural influences on grieving, relationship dynamics and changes among survivors, resources and social support, grieving in a community that may not acknowledge grief, and beginning to live with loss.
